100% Organic Buckwheat Filling
Buckwheat hulls, also known as buckwheat husks, are the outer shells of buckwheat seeds, harvested from the Fagopyrum plant. Organically grown without the use of chemical sprays, these hulls are completely free from herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides, making our buckwheat filling a 100% chemical-free, entirely natural, plant-based choice.
After harvesting, the buckwheat husks are separated from the whole grain (groat) using a roller press, with the grain then supplied to the food industry. The hulls are subsequently screened and air-cleaned to remove dust, dirt particles and plant material (chaff), ensuring a clean, hygienic and premium filling.

How to clean and care for buckwheat filling

This was my first time purchasing buckwheat filling and using the cushion warehouse - the service was prompt and the product arrived quite quickly. I used this as an alternative to plastic bean bag filling for a seat pouf that I made. I was worried that the buckwheat might smell or that it might not be quite suitable for the purpose, however no smell and the buckwheat does just the job! Only small complaint I’d have is that the buckwheat came in a plastic bag and I wish it had been double bagged as it spilt all over my floor (twice), but will be more careful with the bag next time! Will definitely buy again :)
I bought a few kilos of this to fill 2 cushions. It suits the purpose well I was particularly pleased to find an eco filling. I found it a little fiddly to fill my cushions, especially the smaller one, as some husks escaped. However, once I'd figured it out (I made a funnel out of paper) it filled the cushions nicely. It arrived promptly and overall I'm very happy.

Bought 4 kgs to make meditation cushion. First time using this material. A bit hard to sit for longer time. Need to put a cushion on top n take this as base. The buckwheat filling is very steady n strong though. Overall a good n economic attempt for us. The order n delivery process is smooth.
I bought this on a whim with a view to making a doorstop. I haven't made it yet so I can't tell how successful it will be. It feels a little light for heavy doors that are inclined to close themselves. It certainly feels mouldable and doesn't smell. This is my third review for Cushion Warehouse and I forgot to comment on service so just to say I was very pleased with it, my email enquiry was answered promptly and everything arrived safely and in good time.

First time purchasing from the Cushion Warehouse and very happy to find buckwheat husks by the kilo, rather than expensive alternatives or just finding wholesalers - much appreciated, especially as I use mine to refill / fill up my meditation cushion, where refilling is required every few months or so due to the nature of it being used a lot to sit on, and husks reducing in volume as a result. Product arrived within delivery estimate and is great quality (as far as I'm a good judge for buckwheat husks, to be fair, my experience is probably quite limited!) - many thanks!
