Fire Resistant Interliner

Fire barrier interliner fabric is made from 100% cotton, derived from the seeds of the Gossypium plant, and is treated with fire-retardant chemicals to meet Schedule 3 and ignition source 5 (Crib 5) requirements of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations. Designed to be used between the outer fabric cover and filling in upholstered furniture and cushions, this fire barrier interliner ensures compliance with fire safety regulations where the outer fabric does not meet standards on its own. 

Using Schedule 3 interliner fabric as a route to compliance is only permitted when the outer fabric is composed of at least 75% cotton, viscose, modal, flax, silk, or wool (individually or in combination), and cannot be used to bring synthetic fibre-rich or 100% polyester fabrics up to standard. Crib 5 certification represents a higher level of flame resistance, achieved through stringent and rigorous fire testing using a 5-tiered wooden crib and additional ignition sources placed in direct contact with the fabric. Fabrics awarded this certification must prove their resistance to these ignition sources, confirming compliance and suitability for demanding commercial environments.
